Christine provided an update on the Healthy Roots Collaborative and opportunities to volunteer to glean during this harvest time.
 
“The Healthy Roots Collaborative (HRC) is a regional food systems program supporting the growers, producers, and consumers in Franklin and Grand Isle County. Healthy Roots provides programs and services for both consumers and producers in the Northwest Corner of Vermont that focus on food education, access, and infrastructure. We envision a healthy Northwest Vermont with a community rooted in a strong agricultural economy with thriving farms, where all are connected to and nourished by local farms and food.”
Rotary Supported their outreach efforts in establishing a Food and Farm Guide for Franklin and Grand Ise Counties.

“Gleaning Program
Our Healthy Roots glean team rescues quality vegetables and fruits from farms and redistributes to charitable food sites.
Farm to School
We provide our expertise to schools on all aspects of farm to school. Are you looking to incorporate more local food in your cafeteria or strengthen food and farm education in your classroom? We can help you with community organizing, local food sourcing, and student activities such as taste tests, cooking in the classroom or farm field trips. 
 Local Food Sourcing
Are you a food market, cafeteria or restaurant looking to expand or introduce local food offerings? We have a network of more than 160 growers and makers with exceptional food, and we can connect you.
Food & Farm Business Support
Are you a new food or farm business or an existing business looking to expand markets? We can help you to assess your options, provide technical support in market access and connect you to service providers that will help you develop a successful business model.
Local Food and Farm Events
We hold events throughout the year from our annual tasting event In Good Taste to mixer events for our growers, makers, and buyers. Check out our current event listings.”
