As we move forward into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous achievements we celebrated in 2024. We marked a significant milestone in our history—the 100th anniversary of our Rotary Club, a proud achievement that highlights the strength, dedication, and vision of our founders. September 2024 was a month of celebration, but our year-long commemoration reminded us of the impact we’ve had on our community and the legacy we continue to build. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in planning and organizing the activities that made our centennial year memorable.
Looking ahead, my focus as President is clear: Membership Matters, Get Involved, Be Impactful, and Have Fun. We have strong leadership and a committed membership that will carry our vision forward and continue the legacy of the remarkable individuals who established this club. We’re not just marking time—we are taking action to ensure that the next hundred years are as impactful as the first.
We are proud of our signature events that have become part of the fabric of our community. This year, we’ll celebrate the 31st Home & Recreation Expo, and the Lucky Duck Event marks its sixth year. We’re also introducing something new and exciting: the Rotary Cardiac Champ Challenge, a first-time event scheduled for July. These events are more than just fundraisers—they are opportunities to connect with our community, have fun, and make a real difference.
Our commitment to strengthening our community remains unwavering. From youth to seniors, we are dedicated to supporting the needs of all generations. This commitment aligns with the mission of Rotary International, which offers countless opportunities for us to serve, grow, and make a lasting impact. As a Club, we encourage collaboration and partnerships, believing that together we can achieve more. Rotary is about supporting the passions of our members, and if you are not yet a Rotarian, we invite you to learn more. Come to a meeting, attend one of our events, or simply reach out to a Rotarian—you will be welcomed with open arms.
Throughout this year, we are celebrating our Club’s 100th anniversary, but it’s not just a celebration of the past. It’s a celebration of our future
I am incredibly excited about the year ahead. Let’s embrace the opportunity to make our mark. Membership Matters, Get Involved, Be Impactful, and Have Fun will continue to be our guiding principles as we work together to achieve great things. I encourage all of you to continue the excellent work you are doing for our Club and our community.
If you’re passionate about community service, making a difference, and creating lasting friendships, we invite you to learn more about our Rotary Club. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Rotary Club of St. Albans, P.O. Box 1134, St. Albans, VT 05478, or visit our “Become a Member” page to get started.

ST. ALBANS CITY — Students at St. Albans City School took part in "I Love to Read" Week this past week to celebrate the joy of reading.
On Monday, students "dropped everything and read," while on Tuesday they designed their own bookmarks. On Wednesday, students gathered together in small groups for "buddy reading." Book characters wandered the halls on Thursday as teachers and students were encouraged to dress up like their favorites.
